MAIN OBJECTIVES

Our mission is acting on behalf of society in general, but we give more attention to the poorest and most helpless.

The Portuguese Humanitarian Mission is subsidiary of the Portuguese Foundation of Saint Anthony and All Saints and it has as objective to assist the poorest people, help them to overcome the great difficulties and guide them in our society, an increasingly demanding and intolerant society. Portuguese Humanitarian Mission has as main obligation organize the implementation of the Foundation projects, but it can also act spontaneously according to the most urgent needs and later inform the Foundation.

To better perform its Missions in a contemporary way, we are organizing a national volunteer’s network as well as a modern Missionary’s network, which includes all goodwill people, who wish to deliver themselves to humanitarian causes without having to be Priests, Nuns or Friars. But if they have vocation, we can help in this regard and we are willing to take them with heart and open arms. It’s true that we accept families who want to be exemplary by demonstrating that they can help too, and not just the bachelors who abdicate their own family and life, are able to help. With us, everything is possible if there's sincerity, seriousness and willingness to serve in a healthy environment of fraternal fellowship. So everyone is invited to participate regardless of age and gender.

Our core values are sustained by the Christian basis: we don’t want to think for others but help them to think and understand the Christian values which automatically include concern for the others, which requires us to be plural and therefore tolerant. However, the fact of being tolerant doesn't take us the right of freely think and have a specific idealism because all dreams deserve a solid structure so it can exist in a real possible and sustainable life, which only the family can provide through life teachings with its differences, based in the Self-Esteem, in the Universal Love and in the respect for others.

Without the family values continuity there isn’t civility that resists. Therefore, is a serious risk that anarchy anticipates the democracy and destabilize completely the progress made over the centuries. So, we have to join ourselves in defense of the family and Christianity values, which are the values that more appeal and respect the society plurality. Let yourself fall in love for Humanitarian causes and join us in this great challenge of happiness building and make it accessible to many people as possible, through your human kindness and your beautiful smile which still is missing here.

We’re searching to grow in knowledge, in Love and in Respect. So, we want to help our poorest brothers based on the Christian family values, which obliges us to watch over the wellbeing of all our brothers, even if they aren’t Christians.
