PORTUGUESE HUMANITARIAN MISSION

The Portuguese Humanitarian Mission has as main objective to organize and make Humanitarian and Social Missions long term consolidated, as well as acting in punctual Missions of Civic, Social and Charity nature.

The Portuguese Humanitarian Mission is intrinsically connected to the Portuguese Foundation of Saint Anthony and All Saints but it has its own statute which permits it to act freely.

The Portuguese Humanitarian Mission will do everything to surround itself with the best professional talents of all areas, allowing it to act in a professional manner, and extended to the entire society, in the Missions management prepared by the Portuguese Humanitarian Mission as well as in the management, implementation and inspection of all work and Missions undertaken by the Portuguese Foundation of Saint Anthony and All Saints.

The Portuguese Humanitarian Mission will interact between the Portuguese Foundation of Saint Anthony and All Saints structure, the World Humanitarian Parliament, as well as between the Governments, the Municipalities, the Parish Councils and the Parishes, in order to promote and develop projects and Missions that can serve the society, in general, with the main focus in the poorest.

Consistent with the major worries that focus essentially on the lack of food, education and medical support, the Portuguese Humanitarian Mission will operate actively in the agricultural production and in the collection and management of products, as well as in the manufacture and distribution of meals.

Aware of the value’s crisis, we also want to prepare ourselves to enter in the hospitals management, as well as in the kindergartens, preschools and pedagogical professional training management, in general.

Our intention isn’t to replace the Governments but interact with them, helping to overcome the biggest social and humanitarian difficulties of the suffering population, which these same Governments can’t solve because no country is prepared to face it in reality.

In order to improve a better understanding of the society and correctly serve it, our Modern Missionaries will be from all kind of origins and will have all kind of professions, however, they have to have a good Civic and Moral basis or else they will have to accept a training complement which will be graciously offered to them, and which will be centered on the open mind Catholic values.

Our Modern Missionaries will be permanent or itinerant according to each one situation and according with the Missions in course. Thus, anyone can postulate a Missionary role with the condition of having sixteen (16) years old, because this age permits them to become aware of the world problems and discover new humanist vocations.

In the purpose to be efficient but also to reduce several risks where a single person may be inadequate or even dangerous, our Missionaries will be sent to an mission, at least, in pairs (2 persons) in case of adults, but generally will be sent in the number of three (3 persons), so that we can integrate a young person or even a teenager, allowing them to train on field.

With the intention to make the operation viable, both, Missionaries and Ambassadors will be, at the same time, officials of the Portuguese Foundation of Saint Anthony and All Saints or of any aggregated company, which will assume all their financial charges.

The first Missionaries and Ambassadors, permanent or itinerant, will be elected by the President for the first five (5) years of mandate, but in the future, both, the replacement and the nomination of new Missionaries and Ambassadors will be assumed by the Ethic and Moral Supreme Council of the Foundation, validated by the President.

Our serving attitude is based on KNOWLEDGE, LOVE and RESPECT, and thus we will defend our integrity and independence from any other movement, political or associative, but we want to be connected and in full concordance with the Catholic Church.
